May 29 - June 22, 2008
The Bootleg Theater, Los Angeles
Running Time: Approx. 90 min.
A woman with a disability fights to adopt an abandoned baby, while a middle-class couple struggles to conceive. As they wade through the clashing advice of friends, strangers, social workers and fertility doctors, they discover that having a baby in Los Angeles can be a daunting task. Will they get the families they dream ofand at what cost?
Drawing on testimonies from women with disabilities, surrogates, sperm and egg donors, IVF users, reproductive rights advocates, and non-traditional families, Someday breaks the cycle of polarized abortion debates and asks, Who can afford to haveor not havechildren, and who cant?
"...grounded and persuasively real...the diversity onstage is invigorating..." - Los Angeles Times
"...as much bravery onstage as there must be in the real lives of those who own these stories." - TheaterTimes.org
