Some environmental considerations to keep in mind:
It?s extremely hot. We will be indoors with air conditioning most of the time but anytime we are outside during the day precautions must be taken against the heat and sun.
Serious sunscreen is important.
Keeping hydrated is important.
It is an agricultural area. You may find yourself with hayfever or an allergy. You might want to bring an allergy medicine.
Driving Directions to Holtville from Los Angeles
(approx. 220 miles/aprox 4 hrs)
Take the 10 EAST (for approximately 128 miles). After Palm Springs look on the right for and take
86 SPUR SOUTH toward Brawley/El Centro- stay on this road 70 miles or so. You will pass along the west side of the Salton Sea and through the towns of Westmoreland & Brawley.
[ if you've an additional 30 minutes or so, take the more scenic route along the east side of the Salton Sea by turning Left from (Hwy 86) at Hwy 111 toward Mecca. This road will eventually take you through Brawley ]
After Brawley, turn RIGHT on 111 South which you?ll stay on for about 13 miles.
Turn LEFT onto E. Evans Hewes Hwy/115 East.
To the performance venue, Finley Auditorium:
As you drive east into Holtville proper, you will pass the City Hall & Holt Park on your right. A few blocks later turn LEFT on Chestnut Ave. Turn RIGHT on 6th Street. Finley Elementary School Auditorium is located at 627 E 6th Street, Holtville, California 92250. Street parking is available.
