Cornerstone TheaterWe are located in the Los Angeles Downtown Arts District, just east of Little Tokyo and one mile south of historic Union Station. Our building at 708 Traction Avenue houses administrative offices, production storage, and a 2500 square foot rehearsal room.

We do not have a performance space, though our rehearsal room is sometimes used for small workshop-type productions.

Directions & Parking Information

Cornerstone Theater Company is located at 708 Traction Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90013. Traction Avenue is off Alameda Blvd, between 2nd & 3rd Streets, in the Los Angeles Downtown Arts District. We are just east of Little Tokyo and one mile south of historic Union Station. The Southern California Institute of Architecture is just down the street. There are a number of restaurants nearby, including Wurstküche Zip Fusion Sushi, The Novel Cafe, Café Metropol, R23, e3rd Steakhouse & Lounge, & K-Town BBQ.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Cornerstone is a 15-20 minute walk from Union Station and the Metro Red Line Civic Center Station, and an A Dash Bus stop (which connects, on weekdays, to the Civic Center, Financial District & Little Tokyo but NOT Union Station) is located directly outside our door at Traction Avenue & Hewitt Street. DRIVING DIRECTIONS

From the Santa Ana 5 Freeway Northbound:
Keep left toward the US-101 North. Exit Fourth Street and turn left onto Fourth Street. Turn right onto Merrick Street just west of the bridge. Merrick Street turns left and becomes Traction Avenue.

From the Golden State 5 Freeway Southbound:
Exit Fourth Street and turn right onto Fourth Street. Turn right onto Merrick Street just west of the bridge. Merrick Street turns left and becomes Traction Avenue.

From the Harbor 110 Freeway Northbound:
Follow signs to Santa Ana Fwy 5 South. Take the Alameda/Union Station exit. Turn right at the stop light following signs to Alameda Blvd. Turn left on Alameda. Turn left on Second Street. Turn right on Hewitt Street. At end of the block turn right onto E. 3rd Street, then make a quick left onto Traction Avenue.

From the Pasadena 110 Freeway Southbound:
Approaching downtown, follow signs to 101 S/I-5 S. Take the Alameda/Union Station exit. Turn right at the stop light following signs to Alameda Blvd. Turn left on Alameda. Turn left on Second Street. Turn right on Hewitt Street. At end of the block turn right onto E. 3rd Street, then make a quick left onto Traction Avenue.

From the 210 Freeway or the 2 Freeway Southbound: If on the 210 Freeway, exit Southbound on the 2 Freeway, then exit to the Golden State 5 Freeway Southbound to Los Angeles. Stay in the right lanes and take the Los Angeles exit onto the 110 Freeway South. On the 110 get over to the left lane as soon as you can and exit at Hill St. Continue straight eight blocks on Hill, turn right on Temple St, and proceed one long block to Grand Ave. Turn left. Parking is on the right under the Music Center.

From the Hollywood 101 Freeway Southbound:
Just past the 101 and Harbor 110 Freeway interchange, use Alameda/Union Station exit. Turn right at the stop light following signs to Alameda Blvd. Turn left on Alameda. Turn left on Second Street. Turn right on Hewitt Street. At end of the block turn right onto E. 3rd Street, then make a quick left onto Traction Avenue.

PARKING

Parking in our neighborhood is increasingly difficult. Allow extra time to find parking.
There is some free parking on the street that includes all day, 2 hour and 4 hour areas.
There are 10-hour metered spots that cost 4 quarters per hour (free on Sundays).
When Zip Fusion restaurant is open, they offer valet service for $4.
There are pay lots at the corners of 3rd Street & Alameda and 1st Street & Alameda.
